The proposal to the legal committee of the German Bundestag was submitted by the AfD parliamentary group, reports the regional broadcaster NDR. Politicians from this faction demand that €50 million from the German budget be handed over to the General Prosecutor's Office.

According to AfD, this is to help Attorney General Jens Rommel offer an appropriate reward to any person who can lead to the explanation of who was behind the sabotage of Nord Stream.

NDR reminds us that only German authorities are currently investigating this matter among European countries. Denmark and Sweden closed their investigations at the beginning of 2024.

Explosions on Nord Stream

Nearly two years ago, on September 26, 2022, unknown perpetrators caused explosions in the area of the Nord Stream gas pipelines in the Baltic Sea. As a result, three out of the four Nord Stream 1 and Nord Stream 2 pipelines were destroyed. Traces of explosives were found near the leak sites.

So far, it has not been possible to determine who is responsible for the explosions. Various leads have been investigated in the case.

Some leads point to Ukraine, and the yacht Andromeda, which had previously stopped over in Kołobrzeg, was supposedly important in preparing the sabotage. However, other information points to the possibility of a false flag operation to discredit Ukraine in front of Western governments and eventually lead to them stopping their aid to the country attacked by Russia.
