The fourth episode's ending not only throws the future of the characters into question but possibly affects the entire Marvel universe.

In this episode, Loki (Tom Hiddleston) and Mobius (Owen Wilson) seek out Victor Timely's (Jonathan Majors) assistance to control the Time Spindle before it causes irreversible havoc.

Unfortunately, due to an overload, the spindle released temporal energy and radiation, leading to a timeline explosion. This event might suggest the end of TVA and the possible death of characters near the explosion. However, there are two more episodes remaining in this part of the season, leading to hope for a positive turn of events for the characters.

In an interview with TVLine, producer Kevin Wright hinted at what viewers might expect. "Everything has gone haywire, and we have two more episodes to stretch these characters to their limits and see how they tackle this situation (...). It provided a plot bedrock and we knew it would be cool and shocking," Wright teased the fans.

The plot twist was intentionally positioned midpoint of the season instead of the end, for better impact. According to Wright, this placement allows for a more shocking twist and gives the series more time to further explore the characters.

On being asked about future developments, Wright didn't spill any specifics to keep the suspense alive for the audience. He alluded, however, to a potential war that might be on the horizon. "Even without Victor Timely's warning about an impending war, the possibility is still real. In Loki's view, the TVA was the only entity capable of preventing it. If reality can be restored after the fourth episode's events, I'd say a significant problem still exists. The loss of Victor Timely, who played a crucial role in this mission, further aggravates it," Wright revealed.
