The book by the vocalist titled "The Woman I Am" dedicated to her life will have its world premiere on Tuesday, October 24th. It will be released in Poland the following day. In recent weeks, new information about the celebrity's life keeps emerging: both related to her professional career and potential projects, as well as personal matters.
We learned, among other things, that Justin Timberlake broke up with her via text message and that Spears nearly played in "The Notebook" instead of Rachel McAdams. Now, there are rumors about a sequel to the famous production with the star. What are the chances of this happening, was revealed by the director of "Crossroads".
The creator talks about the sequel to "Crossroads"
As reported by Deadline, director Tamra Davis recently gave an interview in which she revealed more details about a potential sequel to her film and mentioned that similar discussions were taking place already in 2002, after the premiere of "Crossroads - Chasing Dreams".
- I'm currently working with Van Toffler, who was the producer of this movie, and he mentioned it - said the woman in an interview for Entertainment Weekly. - I think he discussed it with Britney and her manager. I don't think that she really wants to act that much, but I know that Ann [Carli, producer - ed.] talked about something with Shonda [Rhimes, screenwriter - ed.] and Shonda had an idea, so who knows if it will work out - explained Davis.
The unique perspective of screenwriter Shonda Rhimes
Shonda Rhimes, now responsible for "Queen Charlotte", wrote the script for "Crossroads" even before the "Grey's Anatomy" series, which brought her fame and established her position in the industry. No wonder the director is keen on engaging the showrunner in the project in case of a potential continuation. Davis talks about her, saying that "she's simply brilliant".
- In her first feature film ["Crossroads" - ed. note] you could see (...) how well she understands female characters - she added. - We were all girls behind the camera and we were telling a story about girls in front of the camera. It was a very important voice at that time - she emphasized.
The question is, would Spears herself want to return to acting in movies? The making of "Crossroads" made her realize that she can't break out of her role, and not getting the role in "The Notebook" was a relief for her precisely due to the inability to separate the character from real life. However, she might be tempted to appear on the big screen again after many years?
