Ingredients:
Basic products:
- 3 tablespoons of butter,
- 14 ounces of brown mushrooms,
- 3 cloves of garlic,
- 1.5 teaspoons of dried thyme,
- 4 large potatoes, and
- 8.8 ounces of Gruyere cheese.
Sauce:
- 1.3 cups of 18% cream,
- 5 ounces of 18% cream cheese,
- 2 tablespoons of wheat flour,
- 1/3 teaspoon of nutmeg,
- 1 teaspoon of salt, and
- 1/2 teaspoon of pepper.
Method:
Step 1. Commence by cleansing the brown mushrooms and dividing them into smaller pieces. Sauté them for a few minutes in a heated pan with melted butter.
Step 2. When the mushrooms become tender, add dried thyme, crushed garlic cloves, salt, and pepper to the pan.
Step 3. Next, prepare the creamy sauce. To do this, combine cream, flour, salt, pepper, nutmeg, and cream cheese. Use a kitchen whisk to mix these ingredients well.
Step 4. Next, prepare the potatoes. Peel them, and then slice them into thin halves. Layer the bottom of the baking dish with a portion of these potatoes.
Step 5. Spread a portion of the sautéed mushrooms evenly over the potatoes and cover it with a generous serving of grated cheese. Repeat these steps twice. Lastly, drench the entire casserole with the prepared creamy mixture.
Step 6. Cover the baking dish with aluminum foil and place it in a preheated oven at 374 degrees Fahrenheit for 30 minutes. After this period, remove the foil and continue baking it for an additional 10 minutes.
Step 7. Dish out your beautifully prepared casserole, garnished with chopped parsley. Bon appétit!
