Drunk Nun - Recipe

To create this unique cake, you will need the following ingredients:


  • 3 eggs,
  • 1/2 cup of sugar,
  • 3/4 cup of wheat flour,
  • 1/4 cup of potato flour,
  • 1 tablespoon of vinegar,
  • 1 teaspoon of baking powder,
  • butter and bread crumbs for greasing the form.


  • 1/2 cup of water,
  • 1/2 stick of butter,
  • 3 tablespoons of powdered sugar,
  • 2 tablespoons of cocoa,
  • 1/2 a bar of chocolate (60% cocoa),
  • 0.85 cup of rum.

Whipped cream:

  • 4 cups of 36% cream,
  • 3 tablespoons of powdered sugar,
  • 3 tablespoons of gelatin,
  • boiling water to dissolve the gelatin.

"How to prepare 'drunken nun':"

  1. Start by preparing the sponge cake. Beat the eggs with sugar until the sugar is completely dissolved. Then add vinegar and flour sifted with baking powder. Pour the batter into a mold, previously greased with butter and sprinkled with breadcrumbs.
  2. Bake the sponge for about 25 minutes at 356 degrees Fahrenheit. Make sure it's dry in the middle by checking with a stick at the end of baking.
  3. After removing the sponge from the oven, make small holes on the surface of the cake, for example with the handle of a wooden spoon. They should have a diameter of about 0.2-0.3 inches, and the distance between them is about 0.8 inches.
  4. Then prepare the punch. Boil water in a pot and place a metal bowl or smaller pot on top. Melt butter in it, add chocolate, add cocoa, and sugar. Stir until the ingredients are well combined, then remove from heat, let the chocolate mixture cool slightly. Add alcohol and mix well.
  5. Slowly pour warm punch into the holes in the sponge, trying to fill the entire cake
