To create these charming cookies, all you'll need are a few basic ingredients and 20 minutes. That's it, it doesn't get simpler, faster or easier!
One look at these stunning cookies and you'll instantly fall in love. They're both beautiful and incredibly tasty
Ingredients:
- 1 sheet of puff pastry,
- a few tablespoons of rose marmalade,
- 1 egg for glazing the pastry,
- fresh fruits for decoration — strawberries, raspberries, blueberries,
- powdered sugar for decoration.
Instructions:
Step 1. The process starts with the ready-made puff pastry sheet. Lay it on the kitchen counter, then divide it into 12 equal squares.
Step 2. On half of these squares, make an additional cutout using a cookie cutter. In this instance, I've used a heart shape. But feel free to use other cutters and shapes as per your preference.
Step 3. Spread rose marmalade on the full squares using a regular tablespoon. Ensure you spread the sweet mixture only in the center of the pastry. The pastry is then covered with the matching halves, the pieces with the heart cut out.
Step 4. Press down each cookie around the edges with a fork, creating a decorative frill while doing so.
Step 5. Transfer the cookies to a baking tray. Next, break an egg into a small bowl and whisk it. Using a kitchen brush, spread the beaten egg on each cookie.
Step 6. Place the prepared cookies in a preheated oven for 20-25 minutes. The oven should be set at 374 degrees Fahrenheit.
Step 7. Once baked, fill the heart cutouts on the cookies with your favorite fruits — blueberries, raspberries, and strawberries. As a final touch, sprinkle each cookie with powdered sugar. Enjoy!
