Drones are gaining prominence on modern battlefields. Ukraine, which heavily uses unmanned airships and builds similar machines, exemplifies this trend. The Mammoth drone, used for precision strikes on specific targets, is one such example. However, the testing of new models is ongoing.
The Ukrainian military is partnering with privately owned businesses with extensive experience in drone development. The Ministry of Defense of Ukraine recently conducted tests on six fresh models. The results of the tests have yet to be made public. The collaboration with manufacturers enables the identification and fortification of device weaknesses, and the refinement of designs to better resist hostile electronic warfare systems, particularly the jamming of video communication and control channels.
Kamikaze drone under testing in Ukraine
The Defence Express service has reported that the Ministry of Defense of Ukraine is testing a new kamikaze drone anticipated to soon be utilized on the battlefield. This new drone design has been in development for roughly a year and builds on the manufacturer's prior experience.
"The technologies used to create this new drone are far from unique or new. They constitute a compilation of our cumulative knowledge, conjoined with insights from using previous models," said the manufacturer.
The military assures that the device will be rigorously tested on the battlefield. Although the manufacturer remains silent on the new drone's specifics, it purportedly demonstrated stable operation during radio-electronic warfare tests.
Designed to annihilate enemy targets, the kamikaze drone provides a range of approximately 6.2 miles, potentially posing a serious threat to the Russian Federation's military. We may soon hear about the drone's effectiveness following its practical application on the battlefield.
