Billionaire Elon Musk, owner of Tesla and social media platform X, and Republican candidate for President of the United States Donald Trump were scheduled to speak on Tuesday at 8:00 PM Eastern Time.
The conversation began with more than a 40-minute delay, and Musk announced that there had been a "massive DDOS attack." The platform's owner suggested that the attack "is evidence of significant opposition to people simply hearing what President Trump has to say."
The event was organized in the form of a group voice chat. Several minutes before the planned start, users began reporting issues with joining the group.
In posts on platform X, Musk assured that the chat was prepared to accommodate up to 8 million users. Meanwhile, during the technical difficulties, only about 220,000 viewers tried to join.
