Concerning reports from Los Angeles emerged early Monday afternoon when an earthquake shook the city.
According to the "Los Angeles Times," the tremors were felt over a large area of Southern California.
Los Angeles was the epicenter of the 4.7-magnitude tremors, which occurred near the Highland Park neighborhood, a few miles north of downtown Los Angeles.
Everything was captured on cameras
In one of the recordings that have appeared online, the earthquake is captured during a live broadcast.
In another recording, a train is seen braking sharply during the tremor.
Authorities warn residents
Although preliminary reports indicate no casualties or significant damage, all services have been dispatched to assess the effects of the tremors.
The Los Angeles Police Department warns residents to "be prepared for aftershocks" following the "significant" earthquake.
Cal Tech officials state that the probability of an aftershock with a magnitude of 5.0 or higher within the next week is less than 10 percent.
According to U.S. Geological Survey data, Monday's earthquake was preceded by foreshocks with magnitudes of 1.7 and 1.3 over the last 24 hours.
