Tomatoes, while rich in beneficial components such as potassium, magnesium, iron, and B vitamins, can be harmful if eaten on an empty stomach. People dealing with stomach ulcers or gastroesophageal reflux should avoid tomatoes, especially in the morning, to prevent unpleasant consequences throughout the day.

Hot peppers should also be avoided at breakfast because they can cause heartburn. It's better to incorporate them into your diet later in the day. The same principle applies to other popular vegetables. Natural acids in peppers and cucumbers can irritate the stomach, so it's better not to consume them as the first meal.

Do you like peppers and cucumbers for breakfast? It's not always a good choice

Garlic, known as a natural antibiotic, can help fight various ailments, but it is not recommended for breakfast. This is mainly due to one ingredient: Allicin can overly burden the digestive system, potentially affecting the intestines negatively.

Onions and leeks consumed in the morning can damage the stomach lining, increase gas production, and cause heartburn. Eating them on an empty stomach is also not the best idea.

Not only vegetables - it's worth diversifying your breakfast

Experts recommend that breakfast should not consist solely of vegetables. An excess of vegetables in the morning can disturb the acid balance in the stomach, leading to bloating. Pairing them with dairy products can significantly improve this situation.

People with stomach or duodenal ulcers or inflammation of the digestive system's mucous membranes should exclude fresh vegetables from their breakfasts. Including them in the diet in the afternoon is a much better solution.

This doesn't mean that vegetables for breakfast are disadvantageous in every form. If you opt for vegetables for breakfast, it is wiser to cook them first, adding them, for example, to scrambled eggs. An alternative to morning vegetables could be oatmeal with nuts or fruits.

When preparing breakfast, consider including milk and similar products, such as natural yogurt or buttermilk. Whole-grain bread or muesli mixed with oatmeal or dried fruits is also a good choice.
